We Grow in God's Love and Gifts

Jesus, in the Great Commission recorded in Matthew, chapter 28, calls us to go into all the world not merely to gain converts to the faith but to make disciples. We recognize that disciples are not born but made over a lifetime. As a result, ministry to children is a high priority at Third Reformed.

After spending about twenty minutes in the sanctuary service, children may leave to worship and learn about God in programs designed for specific age groups.
Little Lambs helps two- and three-year-olds learn about Jesus through structured play. They hear the good news of God's love presented in ways they can understand.

Children in Worship guides youngsters four years of age through fourth grade as they learn about God and the Bible in response to stories told with wooden figures and special backdrops.

Growing Time links to the Children and Worship program; it allows children to learn the stories of the Bible in depth using art, drama, and music.

A mid-week program also ministers to children.
Kids Connection is a Wednesday evening program for kindergarteners through fifth-graders that offers a meal, Bible skits and a Bible lesson, crafts, refreshments, music, and various recreational experiences and trips. Children from nearby Hillcrest School and the neighborhood are invited to Kids Connection.

Older children and adults meet in classes and study groups.
Classes for fifth-grade and middle school youth continue to build their knowledge of the Bible and explore its answers to the questions of everyday life. A middle school youth group meets Wednesday nights and at other special times for Christian friendship and relationship building.

The class for high school students helps them further develop as disciples of Jesus. Senior high youth meet on Sunday evenings twice a month and at other special times.

Sunrise Adults is a Sunday morning small-group fellowship for adults in their twenties and thirties.

Adult electives and Bible studies for adults of all ages are offered on a quarterly basis during the education hour on Sunday mornings.

Bible studies for women and men are scheduled throughout the week to fit varied schedules. The church also has a number of small groups that meet on Sunday evenings or other times during the week.

An older adult ministry gathers seniors for meals, Bible study, and seasonal trips.
