We are Members of Christ's Body
Welcome to a church that is growing in spirit, in care for one another, in quality of programs and outreach, and in size. We are a spiritual family whose members want to share and live out the good news of Jesus Christ in Grand Rapids by involving all generations in
- praise of God,
- family life ministry,
- small groups and Bible studies,
- and a variety of community life activities.
Third Reformed Church is large enough to offer a rich variety of programs, yet small enough to maintain a sense of community. Our congregation has an especially strong children’s ministry. The church also has a vital ministry to youth and older adults so that people of all ages may share in the body of Christ. We encourage men and women to minister together as deacons and elders and in all other offices and functions of the church. In recent years, we have heard God’s call to care for and learn from people beyond our traditional, homogeneous community.
Confessing Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, we understand the Bible to be God's authoritative Word. With fellow Christians we uphold the Apostles’ Creed and other historic creeds as faithful expressions of Christian belief.
Our “Walk with Jesus” program helps people who are new to Third Reformed and people who are already members deepen their faith. They are paired with spiritually mature members of the congregation to talk about our faith journey with Jesus. A lay leader also makes short presentations on the Christian faith and life.
Located between Grand Rapids’ urban core and its suburbs, and with members living close by as well as some distance away, the people of Third Reformed share a rich variety of spiritual experiences, Christian traditions, and perspectives on the Christian life and witness. Third Reformed Church has been ministering in Grand Rapids for over 125 years as part of the Reformed Church in America, the oldest denomination in North America.
